How to make bingo cards

  1. 1

Type or paste your words, one per line. Use vocabulary, sight words, math facts or anything your class is learning.

  2. 2

Pick a grid size and how many cards you need. Every card is shuffled differently, so no two students share a board.

  3. 3

Print the cards, or choose Save as PDF in the print window. The caller sheet prints on the last page.

A bingo card generator built for the classroom

This bingo card generator turns any word list into a full class set of printable cards in a few seconds. Paste the words you are teaching this week, choose 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5, and set the number of cards. Each card is laid out in a different order, and the tool checks that no two cards come out the same, so every student plays their own board.

Smaller grids suit younger students and short games: a 3×3 card with nine sight words can be finished in five minutes. A 5×5 card with a free center is the classic layout and works well for review days with older grades. If you only need numbers, switch to classic 1–75 mode and the tool fills the B, I, N, G and O columns with the usual ranges.

When you print, you also get a caller sheet: every word on the list in alphabetical order with a box to tick. Call words in any order and mark them off, so checking a winning card takes seconds instead of a debate.

Your list saves in this browser automatically, so next week's version is already waiting. Nothing you type is sent to a server.

Classroom ideas for bingo

  • Definition bingo

Put vocabulary words on the cards, then read out the definition instead of the word. Students have to know the meaning to mark the square.

  • Math fact bingo

Fill the cards with answers (12, 18, 24...) and call the problems (3 × 4, 6 × 3). It turns fact practice into a game the whole class plays at once.

  • Sight word warm-up

A 3×3 card with this week's sight words makes a quick morning starter. Ask students to read each marked word aloud to a partner.

  • Picture-free reading check

Call a short sentence with the target word missing. Students find the word that fits, which checks reading in context, not just recognition.

  • Blackout review

Before a test, play until someone fills the whole card. Every call is a chance to explain the term before moving on.

  • Student callers

Hand the caller sheet to a student who finishes work early. Reading the words clearly for the class is good speaking practice.

Frequently asked questions

Is this bingo card generator really free?

Yes. You can make and print as many cards as you like with no account and no watermark. The site is paid for by ads shown below the tool, never on your printed cards.

How many words do I need?

A 5×5 card with a free center needs at least 24 words, a 4×4 card needs 16, and a 3×3 card needs 9 (or 8 with a free center). Adding more words than that makes the cards more varied, so fewer students fill a line at the same time.

Will every card be different?

Yes. Each card is shuffled separately and the generator rejects any repeat. If your list is too short to make that many different cards, it tells you how to fix it.

How do I make a PDF?

Click Save as PDF and choose Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) as the printer. The file keeps the exact layout you see, ready to email or print later.

Can I print more than one card per page?

Yes. Choose 1, 2 or 4 cards per page. Four per page saves paper for 3×3 and 4×4 cards; one per page gives the biggest squares for younger students.

Do you store my word lists?

Your words are saved only in your own browser so they are there next time. They are never uploaded. Clearing your browser data or pressing Reset removes them.
