Type your entries, one per line: names, questions, rewards or anything else. You can add up to 100.

  2. 2

Press Spin or the space bar. The wheel slows down naturally and the winner appears under it.

  3. 3

A wheel spinner made for the front of the room

This wheel spinner turns any list into a colorful wheel you can spin in front of the class. It works for picking students, choosing the next review question, deciding which game to play on Friday or sharing out classroom jobs. Students can see every option on the wheel, so the result feels fair, and the slow, ticking finish builds just enough suspense to get everyone watching.

Each spin is decided at random the moment you press the button. Every entry has exactly the same chance, no matter where it sits on the wheel or how long its label is. With "Remove the winner" on, the wheel shrinks after each spin, which is handy for turn-taking or for working through a set of questions without repeats.

The wheel stays smooth with up to 100 entries. Long labels are shortened on the wheel itself, but the full text always shows in the winner announcement. Your entries are saved in this browser, and Copy share link gives you a link that opens the same wheel on another computer, such as the one in the classroom.

Classroom ideas for a spinning wheel

  • Review question wheel

Put question numbers or short prompts on the wheel and spin before each one. It breaks up a long review and keeps the pace lively.

  • Reading response choice

Add response types such as "draw a scene", "write a new ending" or "interview a character" and let the wheel pick the task.

  • Brain break picker

Fill the wheel with one-minute movement breaks. Let the student of the day press the space bar.

  • Math warm-up numbers

Spin twice to get two numbers, then ask the class to add, multiply or compare them.

  • Fair job rotation

Spin for each classroom job with "Remove the winner" on, so no student gets two jobs in one week.

  • Story starters

Make three wheels over the week: characters, places and problems. Spin each one for a creative writing prompt.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wheel spinner fair?

Yes. The result is chosen at random with an equal chance for every entry, then the wheel animates to land on it. Slice position and label length make no difference.

How many entries can I add?

From 2 up to 100. With a lot of entries the labels get smaller, so for big lists the projector view works best.

Can I remove an entry after it wins?

Yes. Turn on "Remove the winner after each spin". The winning entry is taken off your list, and Reset brings back the starting example.

Can I save my wheel or share it?

Your entries save automatically in this browser. Copy share link creates a link with the wheel built in, so you can open it on another device or send it to a colleague.

Can I turn off the ticking sound?

Yes. Switch off Sound. The wheel still shows the result and announces it to screen readers.

Does it work on an interactive whiteboard?

Yes. Tap Spin on the board, or press F for a fullscreen view with a large wheel on a dark background.
